Monksland Skate Park - 2025

This project involved two workshops with local groups: one with Animation and Illustration students from Athlone TUS, and another with Monksland Youth Café.

Since the River Shannon runs right along the border, we decided to make it the central inspiration for the design. The river flows through the middle of the artwork - right across the obstacles at the heart of the park - with floral elements branching outward on either side. These organic forms are layered over the Fibonacci sequence, a mathematical pattern that underpins so much of nature’s design.
